Sound Magic has launched Supreme Drums Nashville, a virtual drum instrument designed for modern Country, Country Pop, and Pop production. The instrument uses the company’s Supreme Drums Epic V2 Engine, combining sampled drum content with hybrid drum modelling and MIDI performance features.
Supreme Drums Nashville is designed to provide Nashville-style drum sounds with detailed dynamic response for programmed parts and live performance. Sound Magic states that the engine supports up to 65,536 velocity layers when used with MIDI 2.0, alongside an unlimited number of round-robin variations.
The instrument incorporates Sound Magic’s Freeform Layer V2 technology, which is intended to use high-resolution MIDI 2.0 data while also providing detailed velocity response with MIDI 1.0 controllers. Under MIDI 1.0, the snare includes up to 127 velocity layers, according to the developer.
The library was created from a 67 GB original sample set and is supplied as a 531 MB instrument library. It includes 13 complete drum kit pieces, along with more than 21 individual drums and cymbals. Sound Magic highlights detailed velocity modelling for instruments including the kick, snare, hi-hat, and ride cymbal.
Alongside sample playback, Supreme Drums Nashville includes a Physical Drum Modeling section. This allows users to adjust parameters related to drumhead and shell materials, drum diameter and depth, tuning, head tension, and resonance.
The instrument also includes Fusion Effect System V2, which brings together EQ, compression, and transient-shaping controls within the interface. These controls are intended to support both direct sound adjustment and more detailed processing workflows.
Supreme Drums Nashville is optimised for use with electronic drum kits, with responsive dynamics intended for real-time playing. Its multi-microphone system provides mixing and spatial controls for stereo productions as well as 5.1, 9.1, and 11.1 surround formats.
Supreme Drums Nashville is available now from Sound Magic at an introductory price of $69, with an MSRP of $129.
