Sound Overflow has launched a collection of eleven audio plugins for Windows, available in VST3 format with a standalone application installed alongside each plugin. Created by a single producer, the Sound Overflow range is designed for deep, textured and generative sound processing across a selection of focused instruments and effects.
The collection includes RETUNE, MICRO, GRAIN, DRON, NEBULOOS, SPEC, TEXTU, CHORDUB, DUBASS, EUCLID and CHORALIS. The plugins cover areas including granular and spectral processing, generative sequencing, dub-oriented delay and bass processing, and texture design.
RETUNE and MICRO are available as free downloads. RETUNE is designed to convert an entire incoming signal between reference frequencies, including 440 Hz to 432 Hz conversions and a selection of alternative references. It includes tuners for both the input and output signals, allowing users to check that the converted signal displays the same note. The plugin uses a tape-style processing engine rather than a phase-vocoder approach.
MICRO is a glitch and granular effect intended for fragmenting and reshaping incoming audio through granular processing.
The remaining plugins provide different approaches to the range’s sound-design and processing scope:
- GRAIN, DRON and NEBULOOS focus on granular and evolving sound generation.
- SPEC and TEXTU are intended for spectral processing and texture-oriented sound design.
- CHORDUB, DUBASS, EUCLID and CHORALIS address chord processing, dub delay and bass, Euclidean sequencing, and choral-style generative material.
All Sound Overflow plugins are currently available for Windows only. Each title is supplied as a VST3 plugin and a standalone application, with no macOS version currently listed. Licences are perpetual, cover two machines, and the software can be used offline after activation.
Sound Overflow has also stated that further plugins are in development, beginning with GENATOR, which is scheduled for September 2026.
RETUNE and MICRO are free. The nine paid Sound Overflow plugins are available from €29 each.
