Streaky Audio has launched a new EQ plugin named Colourbox. This unique plugin is designed to simplify the audio mixing process, providing instant warmth, clarity, and focus to individual sounds, mix busses, or mastering chains.
Colourbox features four effect modules that function well individually but can also be blended together to create a wide range of sound settings. Users can easily adjust these modules to suit their preferences.
The ‘Warmth’ module strengthens the low mids of a track, which is where most of the heavy lifting is done. The Colourbox warmth curve adds the right amount of EQ based on the incoming strength in this area, ensuring a robust and balanced sound.
The ‘Clarity’ module is designed to enhance the clarity across the whole mix without making some of the sounds thinner. This effect can be added to your mix buss or in your mastering chain, providing an instant improvement in sound quality.
The ‘Focus’ module uses Mid/Side EQ magic to quickly draw out the presence of the track without affecting the phase and stereo balance. Even a small amount of the focus effect can make a noticeable difference, especially when blended with the other effects.
The ‘Saturation’ module combines samples from some of Streaky’s favourite analogue hardware to add just the right amount of saturation to the ‘S’ button on the Colourbox. This button also doubles the effect of the Warmth, Clarity, and Focus modules, making it ideal for use on drums, guitars, and keyboards, as well as enhancing the overall mix.
Colourbox is an excellent mix enhancer, thanks to the combination of Saturation and intelligent EQ curves. Streaky has incorporated his 25 years of experience as an EQ Ninja into the development of this plugin, making it quick and easy for users to achieve instant results without any guesswork.
The plugin is priced at $119.00 and is not currently on sale.
