Tilr has launched FILT-R, a versatile filter modulator plugin compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. This release marks the evolution of their previous FLTR-1 JSFX for the Reaper DAW, offering enhanced features and broader compatibility.
The FILT-R plugin is designed to provide users with a comprehensive set of tools for filter modulation. Drawing inspiration from plugins like ShaperBox and FilterShaper, FILT-R integrates six distinct filter types: Linear, Sallen-Key, Moog, 303, MS-20, and Phaser. Each filter type is equipped with multiple modes and slopes, allowing for a wide range of sound shaping possibilities.
Key features of FILT-R include:
- Six unique filters with various slopes and modes
- Five modes per filter: Low Pass (LP), Band Pass (BP), High Pass (HP), Notch, and Peak
- Twelve patterns for resonance and cutoff, triggered by MIDI notes
- User-defined shapes through a paint mode
- Built-in sequencer and randomizer
- Envelope followers for resonance and cutoff
- Tempo sync or LFO rate (Hz) options
- Smooth attack and release controls
- Pre and post waveform display
- MIDI and audio trigger modes
FILT-R is available for download in its latest version, supporting VST3 and LV2 formats for Windows, Linux, and macOS, as well as AU format for macOS. This plugin utilizes the same engine as Tilr’s GATE-12 and TIME-12, applying it to filter modulation for enhanced audio processing capabilities.
The plugin incorporates filters sourced from Saikes Yutani Bass, including the 303, MS-20, and Linear filters. Additionally, it features a Moog filter adapted from JUCE’s stock ladder filter, along with Analog/Sallen Key and Phaser filters derived from the Vital synth source code.
FILT-R is distributed under the GPL-3.0 license, ensuring open-source accessibility and collaboration within the audio development community.
