Tuva has launched version 1.3.10 of its desktop sample management application, introducing extended DAW project file support for Ableton Live and FL Studio. The update allows users to browse project files and explore their contents directly within Tuva, without opening a digital audio workstation.
With this release, producers can navigate their Ableton Live and FL Studio projects inside Tuva and view detailed information about each session. This includes the ability to see which samples are used in a project, preview associated MIDI files, and examine the overall project structure.
According to Tuva, the feature is designed to support producers who recall sounds based on the projects in which they were used. By linking sample libraries with project files, the application enables users to identify sessions not only by file name, but also by the audio and MIDI content contained within them.
The new project browsing functionality includes:
- Direct browsing of Ableton Live and FL Studio project files
- Visibility of samples used within each project
- MIDI file preview within the application
- Structured project overview without launching the DAW
Tuva operates as a standalone, DAW-agnostic desktop application. All processing runs locally on the user’s machine, and no internet connection is required for file analysis or tagging.
In addition to project browsing, Tuva includes on-device AI-based tagging across 64 instrument categories, tempo detection, and sound similarity search. These tools are intended to help producers organize and locate samples, MIDI files, and related assets within a unified workspace.
The company states that the new feature was developed in collaboration with producers and songwriters in Stockholm, whose workflow feedback informed the design. Tuva reports that the application is currently used by professional producers in the Stockholm music community as part of their regular production process.
Project support for Logic Pro and additional DAW formats is planned for future updates.
Tuva is available for macOS and Windows as a standalone desktop application.
Tuva is available for €25 as a lifetime license and includes a 14-day free trial.
