News: Usual Suspects Releases OsTIrus, Free Virtual Synth Plugin.

The Usual Suspects has launched OsTIrus, a free virtual synth plugin. This innovative software emulates the Access Virus TI, TI2, and Snow synthesizers and is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

OsTIrus is currently available in version 1.3.12. Depending on the user’s operating system, the plugin can be accessed in various formats such as VST2, VST3, CLAP, AU, .deb, and .rpm. The repository contains the full content of builds, including the FX version of the plugins and older builds.

However, for MacOS Catalina and later versions, the plugins are not signed. If users encounter a warning message stating “OsTIrus.xxx cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified,” they will need to execute specific commands in a terminal to allow the execution of the binaries.

In addition to its primary functions, the plugin also offers a performance test to assess whether the user’s CPU can handle it. The Virus TI operates each DSP at 133 MHz, necessitating a combined result for both DSPs of 266 MIPs or more to run it. On the other hand, the Virus TI Snow uses 1 DSP at 163 MHz, meaning that 163 MIPs are required to operate it in Snow mode.

As of now, there is no expiration date for this free virtual synth plugin. Users can download and use OsTIrus at their convenience without worrying about any promotional discount deadlines.
