News: Vitric Audio releases Stoke Saturator, a four-knob saturation plugin, with full licenses free through 30 September.

Vitric Audio has launched Stoke Saturator, a four-knob saturation plugin for macOS and Windows. The plugin is designed around a single analogue-style saturation voice, with controls for Drive, Tone, Mix, and Output, alongside Auto and Power switches.

Stoke Saturator uses the Drive control to continuously change the depth of its saturation processing rather than selecting between separate models. According to Vitric Audio, the design is intended to provide one tuned saturation character across the control’s range.

The Tone control adjusts the tonal balance of the processed signal, while Output provides level adjustment after processing. Mix controls the balance between the original and processed audio. Vitric Audio states that the plugin keeps the dry path in a bit-exact delay line and generates harmonic content in a separate residual signal, so that the Mix control blends the added harmonic character with the original track.

The Auto function is intended to follow input level as the Drive amount changes. In its published recorded tests, Vitric Audio reports that programme material and basslines remained within plus or minus 0.5 LU at Drive settings of 20%, 60%, and 100%. The developer also reports low-frequency energy from 20Hz to 120Hz within plus or minus 0.5dB at 50% Drive, and aliasing measured at -131dBFS with a 10kHz sine wave at full Drive.

Vitric Audio says the saturation process includes programme-dependent bias for sustained material, as well as transient-aware behaviour intended to preserve the first milliseconds of incoming hits. Stoke Saturator reports 6 samples of latency to the host, equivalent to 0.125ms at a 48kHz sample rate.

The plugin includes 12 starting points named after their source material. These provide preset configurations for users working with different types of tracks and instruments.

Stoke Saturator is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS, supporting macOS 10.15 or later on Intel systems and macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon. Windows support includes VST3 and AAX on Windows 10 and later. The current release is version 0.2.0, and perpetual licences cover up to three machines.

Vitric Audio is offering full perpetual Stoke Saturator licences free through 30 September 2026 via vitricaudio.com/free, requiring an email address but no card details or account. From 1 October 2026, the plugin will be priced at $20.
