Vox Samples has launched the Vowel Changer Formant Filter, a free formant filter plugin compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. This high-quality effect plugin is designed to alter the vowel of any sound in your project, offering a unique tool for audio manipulation.
The Vowel Changer Formant Filter is particularly effective when applied to vocals, but its versatility extends to complex sounds with harmonics, including synths, guitars, keys, and more. The plugin operates by amplifying the three middle bottom knobs labelled “A”, “EE”, and “U”, which correspond to the vowel of the sound. By mixing these knobs, users can create a variety of different effects.
In the event that the signal becomes too hot, the “Input” and “Output” knobs can be adjusted to achieve suitable gain. For those seeking a more subtle effect, this can be accomplished by adjusting the large “Mix” knob situated on the right. Additionally, the Q factor can be modified with the large “Width” knob on the left.
The Vowel Changer Formant Filter plugin is available at no cost and is compatible with Windows (64-bit only): VST3 and macOS (64-bit only): VST3, AU.
Please note that this plugin is free of charge. It is available for download on the Vox Samples website.
