Super Serrated is a new synthesizer instrument designed around the classic stacked-saw concept, offering a compact and expressive approach to multi-saw sound design. The instrument focuses on flexible saw layering, with additional features aimed at shaping leads, pads, basses, and chord sounds.
At the core of Super Serrated is a variable saw stack that allows users to select between one and eleven saw waves. The stack can then be shaped using octave control, detune, stereo width, and unison mix parameters. This structure enables detailed adjustment of the harmonic spread and spatial placement of the layered oscillators.
To extend the tonal range, Super Serrated includes a sine-based sub-oscillator for additional low-frequency weight, along with a noise source for added texture. These elements can be blended with the main saw stack to build more complex timbres.
The instrument supports up to 16 voices of polyphony and offers multiple voice modes, including polyphonic, monophonic, and legato operation. It also features shared polyphony with up to 16-voice unison, allowing dense stacked sounds while maintaining voice allocation control. Portamento is included for glide effects between notes.
For performance and expressive control, Super Serrated provides MIDI pitch bend support, as well as modulation sources including mod wheel and channel aftertouch. These inputs can be used to introduce real-time variation during performance.
Super Serrated is available across multiple platforms:
- macOS 14 and later
- Windows 11
- Ubuntu 20.04 and later
- iOS 18.5 and later
