Wavelet Audio releases Louisa Arc cinematic vocal instrument for Kontakt Full and Player.

News: Wavelet Audio releases Louisa Arc cinematic vocal instrument for Kontakt Full and Player.

Wavelet Audio has launched Louisa Arc, a vocal instrument for Kontakt Player built around soft, cinematic vocal textures and expressive performance tools. The library expands on material originally introduced in GROTH, presenting a dedicated vocal collection with new recordings, phrases, and an updated engine focused on playability and expression.

Louisa Arc is designed to provide composers with a versatile vocal palette built from multiple syllables and expressive techniques. According to the developer, the instrument allows users to shape natural and emotional vocal lines while maintaining consistent timing and articulation across performances.

The library includes newly recorded material alongside expanded content derived from the earlier GROTH release. What began as a smaller component within that instrument has developed into a standalone vocal library with additional phrases, melismas, transitions, and a dedicated interface designed to streamline creative workflows.

Particular attention has been given to note consistency and timing. Transitions, melismas, and round robins have been edited to remain stable and predictable, with the aim of reducing the need for manual adjustments during composition. This approach is intended to support smoother legato writing and more efficient sequencing within a project.

Louisa Arc comes with a balanced default sound designed to integrate naturally into a mix while retaining the original dynamics of the recordings. The instrument avoids heavy compression in its default state. Alternative mix balances are available, and users can disable processing entirely to access a dry signal suitable for further shaping. Additional details such as melisms and recorded breaths are included to enhance realism and variation.

The instrument also incorporates a broad range of built-in effects, allowing users to explore processing options beyond traditional vocal presentation. These include delays, reverbs, distortions, and modulation effects, supporting the creation of more experimental textures and layered sound design.

Louisa Arc extends beyond conventional vocal playback by offering extensive creative tools and preset content. Among the included features are:

  • 147 snapshots covering factory configurations
  • Rhythmic processing and reversed sample options
  • Random sample start functionality
  • A wide range of effects for sound shaping

Through these tools, the instrument can generate pads, pulses, textures, and other sound design elements derived from the human voice.

A significant component of the library is its phrase collection. Louisa Arc includes 324 melodic phrases designed as complete performances. These phrases are immediately playable and can be adjusted using keyswitches to control tonal centers. The goal is to assist composers in quickly establishing musical ideas and structural foundations within a track.

A built-in chord synth is also included. This feature enables users to sketch harmonic ideas directly within the instrument, allowing vocal phrases and chords to be combined without switching to additional tools. A dedicated presets window provides access to both Factory and User presets for phrases, supporting organized workflow and quick recall.

Louisa Arc runs in Kontakt Player and is compatible with the free version of the platform.

Louisa Arc is available at a regular price of $119. An introductory price of $89 is available until June 20th. Owners of Wavelet Audio’s Groth library can purchase Louisa Arc for $79.
