XILS-lab has launched MemoryTone, a synthesizer plugin for macOS and Windows. The instrument is designed around a 16-voice polyphonic architecture inspired by an ambitious period of analogue synthesizer design, with expanded modulation, MPE support, an arpeggiator, and built-in effects.
MemoryTone provides three oscillators per voice, with combinable waveforms, oscillator synchronisation, and pulse-width control. Its synthesis path also includes a 24 dB-per-octave self-oscillating ladder filter.
The plugin’s architecture is intended to support sound design and performance approaches beyond the era of the instrument design that informed it. XILS-lab has added expanded modulation options, MPE compatibility, an advanced arpeggiator, and a flexible effects section.
MemoryTone version 1.0.0 is available in the following plug-in formats:
- macOS 10.13 or later, 64-bit Intel and Apple Silicon: VST2.4, VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX Native
- Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, 64-bit: VST2.4, VST3, and AAX Native
A 15-day demo licence is also available, providing access to the full feature set during the trial period. The demo uses iLok protection.
MemoryTone is available from the XILS-lab store for €79, reduced from €199 as part of an introductory 60% discount. The promotion is scheduled to expire on November 1.
