Zen Audio Launches Quadila Multiband Fuzz Plugin.

News: Zen Audio Launches Quadila Multiband Fuzz Plugin.

Zen Audio has launched QUADILA, a multiband fuzz plugin for macOS and Windows. The new release introduces a distortion tool designed to offer detailed multiband control with an emphasis on intuitive operation and flexible sound design.

QUADILA is built to allow users to design a wide range of distortion tones, from quick tone shaping adjustments to more detailed sound design work. The plugin focuses on multiband processing, enabling users to shape multiple independent frequency bands with dedicated controls.

Each band can be adjusted individually, with parameters presented in a graphical interface. Users can manipulate drive levels, adjust band ranges, and switch between shaper types directly within the main display. Flexible crossover controls allow for precise frequency band definition, supported by a visual guide that provides feedback on parameter changes.

At the core of QUADILA is a set of 10 distinct shaper types available per band. These shapers are designed to offer varied distortion characteristics, giving users multiple approaches to sculpting harmonic content. The plugin also includes a custom-designed resonance filter intended to provide a wide range of tonal character.

Additional processing tools are integrated to support final sound shaping. These include:

  • An easy-to-use post filter for refining tonal balance after distortion
  • A high-quality clipper for output control
  • Independent autogain applied to each band

QUADILA also features asymmetric shaping, which generates even-order harmonics and adjusts shaping tone based on input level. This behaviour allows the distortion response to vary dynamically depending on the incoming signal.

The plugin ships with factory presets created by professional producers, with additional preset expansions planned for future updates. Zen Audio states that the preset library is intended to provide practical starting points for different production contexts.

The graphical interface is designed to remain clear while offering detailed control. In addition to functional adjustments, QUADILA includes more than 70 selectable color themes inspired by a variety of visual motifs, allowing users to customise the appearance of the plugin to suit their workflow preferences.

QUADILA is available in VST3 format for Windows and VST3 and AU formats for macOS. It supports:

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only)
  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, with native support for Intel and Apple Silicon

System requirements include a minimum of 4 GB RAM, with 8 GB recommended, and at least 100 MB of free disk space. The plugin has been verified for compatibility with several major digital audio workstations, including Ableton Live 12 or later, Bitwig Studio 5 or later, Cubase 12 or later, FL Studio 2024 or later, GarageBand 10 or later, Logic Pro 11 or later, Studio One 6 or later, and Reaper 7 or later.

A 14-day free trial is available, providing unrestricted access to all features. After the trial period, the plugin switches to a Limited Mode that inserts two seconds of silence every 15 seconds. A single license can be activated on up to two computers simultaneously.

QUADILA is currently available with a 50% introductory discount, valid until May 31st.
