Zynaptiq has launched Punch, a sophisticated dynamics contouring plugin compatible with both Mac and Windows systems. This innovative product is designed to enhance the quality of sounds, tracks, stems, or mixes by adding a natural, musical punch and contour.
Punch is a testament to Zynaptiq’s expertise in source separation, signal statistics, frequency domain processing, and filter design. It is engineered to work effectively on individual sounds as well as complex material like mixed music. The plugin applies its processing to all sound components separately, utilizing more than a hundred bands of meticulously engineered filtering. It also boasts two alternative algorithms, a transparent sounding output clipper, support for up to 16 channels for immersive workflows, and Zynaptiq’s signature workflow.
The additional features of Punch are designed to enhance the user’s audio experience. These include the ability to add airy presence, mid-range twang, and meaty oomph, giving sounds more contour, or reducing over-compression effects on mixes. Punch employs intelligent, advanced statistics-based Crystal and Smooth processing algorithms with reconstruction based on 10 or 100+ super-clean minimum phase bands, respectively. It also offers easy frequency-dependent processing using Zynaptiq’s Bias functionality and visual hover menus.
Punch supports channel counts from mono to 16 for immersive workflows, and all common sampling rates from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, depending on available CPU resources. The plug-in operates as a 64-bit AAX Native, AU, and VST 3 and is compatible with macOS 10.15.x or newer, on Intel & Apple Silicon processors, and Windows 10 or newer.
The plugin employs PACE copy protection and requires a free ilok.com account for activation. It can be activated on the hard drive of your computer or an iLok 2 or newer USB dongle. Punch is licensed for single user/seat but allows dual activations for user convenience.
Punch will be available for purchase from the Zynaptiq website and authorized resellers worldwide from January 15th, 2025. An Early Access purchase option is available now, valid from December 23, 2024, to January 14th, 2025, via the Zynaptiq website. Early Access users can purchase Punch at a reduced price of USD 79/EUR 89. This promotional offer expires on January 14th, 2025.
