Klusterkitt gives users the ultimate freedom to shape their sound with easy-to-use presets, an intuitive UI design, and customized engine created within Kontakt. Inside this bundle, you’ll find Konstruktor, Fabrikator, and Rezonator, with over 10,000 samples and 1,000 instruments collectively. You’ll have access to a wide range of sounds, including kits suitable for EDM and cinematic genres. You easily tweak samples by editing the filter cutoff, FX sends, decay, start sample position, and so much more. The Effects tab boasts a variety of options, including the custom impulses they call “Convolution Colors.” Lastly, you have the option to humanize each individual kit slot by adding 6 round-robin layers for each articulation.
Mind = BLOWN
I am a huge fan of drum machines in general, so I was extra critical when I tested this library out. I am surprised that I’d never even heard of Pornofonic before because the quality and tone of each instrument is stellar; I simply cannot find the words to describe it. Klusterkitt is by no means a mainstream sample library, which is probably why I grew so attached to it the moment I played a basic drum pattern.
I’m all about weird and unique sounds that can liven my mixes up. Klusterkitt absolutely blew me away and exceeded my expectations. I was able to create kits that sounded organic and alive, which is something I rarely see in sample libraries like this one. It really makes me want to pull out some modular synthesizers and perform weird electronic music live. Maybe that’s just me…
What Does This Button Do?
I was really intimidated by the number of knobs and buttons I saw when I first opened up Klusterkitt. It wasn’t difficult for me to figure out what each parameter did, I was just overwhelmed with options from the get-go, which isn’t a bad thing! Whether you’re a diehard preset user or wanting to shape your own sounds, you’ll have no problem finding your way.
Who’s The Target Audience?
As I said, this isn’t your typical drum kit. You’re going to find sounds that are weird, organic, and very unique to this library. If you compose music for various mediums, including video games and film, the sound design for each kit alone is infinitely useful. However, even if you’re someone who produces more contemporary genres like EDM and would like to add some cinematic flair to your mix, I’d say you’ll have a lot of fun exploring new ways to make the crowd go nuts once the bass drops. But if you’re into making happy-ukulele music with a positive message, you’ll probably want to steer away from this one unless you’re feeling extra experimental.
