Eli & Flo has launched GOAT, a free saturation and character plugin for Windows and macOS. The plugin was created for the duo’s own hardstyle productions and is intended to provide a direct workflow for increasing the density and presence of audio material.
GOAT is designed for use on kicks, drums, basses, leads, synths, vocals and other sources. Eli & Flo describes the plugin as a tool for making sounds denser, more aggressive and more present, with a focus on quick adjustment through three primary controls.
- BEEF adjusts density, drive, compression, saturation and weight.
- BITE adds presence, definition and harmonic character.
- MIX sets the balance between the original and processed signals.
The plugin uses 4x oversampled nonlinear processing and includes internal gain compensation and subsonic filtering. It also supports DAW automation, plugin state saving and recall, and a resizable user interface.
GOAT’s interface includes an animated goat character that responds visually as the BEEF control is raised. Eli & Flo states that the plugin was independently developed from scratch, with its own DSP, workflow and visual design.
GOAT is available for Windows in 64-bit VST3 format, and for macOS in VST3 and Audio Unit formats.
GOAT is available free of charge, with no subscription, trial period or paid unlock, and Eli & Flo states that it is intended to remain free permanently. Downloads are available from https://eli-flo.itch.io/goat-free-fattener-saturation-plugin.
