News: AudioThing has updated miniBit, adding CLAP plugin format and support for Linux & iOS.

AudioThing has recently released an update for miniBit, an 8-bit/chiptune style synth plugin compatible with Windows and Mac. The update includes the addition of the CLAP plugin format and extends support to Linux and iOS.

The miniBit synthesizer plugin is designed to emulate the sound of 80s game consoles and retro computers, offering a unique sound experience.

miniBit is a synthesizer plugin that replicates the 8-bit/chiptune style, reminiscent of the audio from 80s game consoles and retro computers. It is equipped with a main oscillator that features 18 waveforms, which is paired with a sub oscillator. The sub oscillator is a square wave that is pitched one octave below. The waveforms are not bandlimited and will produce aliasing. This characteristic, combined with the built-in bitcrusher, allows users to create even more noisy and retro sounds.

Additionally, miniBit comes with a synced 8 Steps Stepper/Sequencer with multiple destinations. This feature enables the creation of a wide range of sounds, from noisy, snare-like steps to ambient subs. Despite its chiptune synth style, miniBit has many uses beyond what one might initially expect.

miniBit is available for MAC, PC, and LINUX (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP, 64-bit only). It is also available as AUv3 and Standalone on the App Store. To celebrate the update, AudioThing is offering a 50% discount on the introductory price, valid until October 11th.
