Analog Obsession has launched UREQ, a complimentary EQ plugin compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems. The UREQ plugin is a simplified version of a classic equalizer, designed with a user-friendly interface and unique features to enhance the audio editing experience.
The UREQ plugin is a stripped-down classic equalizer, modeled in SPICE to maintain simplicity. While the original design includes a variety of features, the plugin version only includes the simulation. The EQ has varying Q values according to frequencies and gain, a feature the developer was keen to showcase. The input line amp has been enhanced with gain compensated input, allowing users to achieve desirable saturation from line amps and filter circuits.

The UREQ plugin was released in its first version, 1.0, on August 30, 2023. It is available in VST3, AU, and AAX Native – Audiosuite formats. For Mac users, it is compatible with versions 10.11 – 13.X and requires a graphic card that supports “Metal”. For Windows users, it is compatible with versions 10 – 11 and requires a graphic card that supports “OpenGL”.
