Sonora Cinematic releases Panorama Guitars for Kontakt Player.

News: Sonora Cinematic releases Panorama Guitars for Kontakt Player.

Sonora Cinematic has launched Panorama Guitars, marking the second instrument developed in the company’s Aria engine.

This follows the successful launch of Aria Vocalscapes earlier this year. Panorama Guitars is a Kontakt Player virtual instrument, inspired by the guitar textures of post-rock and shoegaze acts, and the sounds that have influenced a wealth of media music over the past three decades.

The instrument encapsulates these iconic sounds, making them ready to be shaped using the bespoke Aria engine. This versatile and cinematic modern post-rock guitar instrument can seamlessly fit into pop, rock, lo-fi hip-hop, and any project that requires pristine clean or crunchy guitar tones. From haunting arpeggios and moving melancholy melodies to warm and soulful tones, these instruments add layers of cinematic depth to enrich compositions and mesmerise listeners.

Furthermore, this virtual instrument is not limited; users can import their own samples and utilise the Aria engine’s extensive controls and effects to create their own vast and distinct palette of sounds.

The sounds for this instrument were created by deep-sampling five classic electric guitar models, a beautiful baritone guitar, and a stunning electric bass. Each instrument was played through a curated selection of guitar amps and pedals and captured with high-end microphones and preamplifiers to ensure the highest fidelity.

Contributions have also been made by experimental ambient artist Elif Yalvac. Her unique approach has infused Panorama Guitars with avant-garde textures and ambient soundscapes, providing a diverse palette of sounds to explore.

The bespoke Aria engine is at the core of Panorama Guitars. This powerful platform is filled with modulation possibilities, expressive effects, and the ability to manipulate samples with ease.

The engine offers a diverse array of sounds from ‘Ambient Trem’, ‘Huge Wash’ and ‘Shimmer Pulse’ to ‘Post Rock Fuzz’, ‘Crusty Ambience’, ‘Lo-Fi Junky’ and many more. Users can pick one for each of the two available slots and create ever-evolving textures and soundscapes using the intuitive integrated XY pad. A myriad of controls, two step sequencers and a multitude of FX offer an array of options for experimentation.

Sonora Cinematic Founder, Alessandro Mastroianni, expressed his excitement about the release, stating, “_The idea for Panorama Guitars came from being a great fan of the lush, atmospheric guitar-driven soundscapes of post-rock and shoegaze, music that had a huge influence on contemporary film scoring. I wanted to create an instrument that not only pays homage to the iconic tones of bands like Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai and Mono but also allows musicians to craft their own unique sonic landscapes using our new Aria engine. We had a blast recording it: telecasters, stratocasters, Jaguars, a baritone, a Jazz Bass… not to mention 4-5 different amps and over 20 pedals. I’m really thrilled with the result_.”
