Audio Damage Launches AD-202 Monosynth Plugin for Mac Windows and Linux.

News: Audio Damage Launches AD-202 Monosynth Plugin for Mac Windows and Linux.

Audio Damage has launched AD-202, a single-oscillator monosynth plugin for macOS, Windows, Linux, and iOS. The instrument takes its design direction from compact monosynths of the early 1980s while adding polyphonic operation and contemporary controller and tuning support.

AD-202 is built around one voltage-controlled oscillator offering saw, pulse, sub-oscillator, and noise waveforms. Its signal path includes a 24 dB ladder filter, a single envelope generator, and an LFO, with the primary controls presented on the front panel.

The plugin can operate in mono mode or provide up to eight voices of polyphony. It includes per-voice analogue-style drift, an LFO that can sync to host tempo and use a delayed onset, and a post-VCA colour section.

The colour section provides pre-filter saturation, filter drive, distortion, and tilt EQ controls. Audio Damage states that AD-202 is its own interpretation of the early-1980s single-oscillator monosynth format rather than a model of a particular hardware instrument.

AD-202 supports MPE performance control and MTS-ESP microtuning. It does not include an internal sequencer and is intended to be played from a DAW or external controller.

Desktop versions are available in the following formats:

  • Windows 10 or later, 64-bit: CLAP, VST3, and AAX
  • macOS 10.13 or later, Intel or Apple Silicon: CLAP, VST3, AAX, and Audio Unit
  • Ubuntu 20 or later, 64-bit: CLAP, VST3, and LV2

An iOS version is available for iOS 12 or later in AUv3 format. Audio Damage also provides a fully functional demo version with a 20-minute session timer and disabled saving.

Audio Damage states that AD-202 uses no DRM, subscription system, dongle, iLok, or online activation. The plugin is supplied with a perpetual licence and may be installed on machines owned by the licence holder.

AD-202 is currently available with a 20% introductory discount, scheduled to expire on September 15.
