Sound Dust Launches Bad Violin Toolkit Library for Kontakt.

News: Sound Dust Launches Bad Violin Toolkit Library for Kontakt.

Sound Dust has launched Bad Violin Toolkit, a new library for Kontakt, offering a comprehensive range of violin sounds and effects. This toolkit is designed for users of the full version of Kontakt, providing an extensive array of features for sound manipulation and creative exploration.

The Bad Violin Toolkit comprises two distinct instruments, both utilizing a similar sample set that captures the full range of a beautifully bowed violin. Each note is recorded with six velocity levels, ensuring a dynamic and expressive sound. The toolkit leverages the capabilities of the Kontakt engine to offer a wide variety of sound manipulation options.

DRIFT BAD VIOLIN

The first instrument, DRIFT BAD VIOLIN, is built on a Kontakt wooze engine. It features two multifunctioning tremolo engines and deep tape warble control, allowing for intricate sound modulation. Users can explore 100 morphing EQ presets and over 50 custom impulse responses (IRs). The instrument also includes a one-knob ADSR, filth control, and an amusing fake legato mode. Additionally, it offers 60 snapshots, each with unique internal architecture and exciting mod wheel (CC1) mappings.

GRAINs BAD VIOLIN

The second instrument, GRAINs BAD VIOLIN, employs a granular Kontakt engine to transform notes into new textures. It includes a secondary layer of col legno violin, played heartily for added pluck. Users can start their sonic adventures with 10 snapshot playgrounds, each featuring re-configured internal architecture and distinct mod wheel (CC1) mappings.

Free Version

For those interested in exploring the toolkit without commitment, Sound Dust offers a free version: Drift Free Bad Violin. This cut-down version is compatible with Kontakt FULL 6.7.1 or above and includes 200MB of uncompressed samples. It features one velocity layer and lacks automation capability. Despite its limitations, it provides a morph EQ knob with 100 presets, a morph ADSR knob with 100 presets, a grist knob for noisy filth, and 50 custom impulse response reverbs. Additional features include BPM-synced drift control for tape-like wow and flutter, and a BPM-synced bipolar volume ducking modulator for complex throbbing effects.

The Bad Violin Toolkit requires the full version of Kontakt 6.7.1 or above. *It is currently available at a promotional price of £10/$10/€10, with the offer expiring on February 28th.*
