Native Instruments has launched Odes, the third library in its Evolution series, now available for Kontakt Player. Odes offers a rhythm-driven ensemble that blends instruments from diverse musical traditions.
The library combines string and woodwind instruments such as nyckelharpa and shakuhachi with tempo-synced loops and tonal sculpting tools. Users can layer up to three instruments, each with three articulations, to create evolving rhythmic soundscapes.
Key features include:
- Global instrument palette spanning shakuhachi, nyckelharpa, kamancheh, and tenor saxophone
- Rhythm-driven loops and tempo-synced patterns
- Articulation layering supported by a clean user interface
Odes extends the series’ framework with built-in microphone mixing and convolution reverb. These elements help recreate realistic acoustic environments directly within Kontakt Player without additional setup.
Audio demonstrations and a detailed walkthrough are available for those interested in exploring the library’s capabilities:
Building on the foundations of Lores and Fables, Odes introduces additional rhythmic controls and smart tonal sculpting, allowing composers to fine-tune the character of each layer with precision.
Odes is available at a 25 percent introductory discount through October 30th.
