News: IrisOrbit has released PolyArp, a MIDI arpeggiator that turns held chords into two independent parts.

IrisOrbit has launched PolyArp, a MIDI arpeggiator designed to turn held chords into two independent arpeggiated parts. The application and plug-in can send MIDI to connected software or hardware instruments, which provide the resulting sound.

Each of PolyArp’s two parts includes independent rhythm, playback direction, octave range, gate, velocity, and MIDI channel settings. The parts can both use the full held chord, divide notes into lower and upper ranges, or follow a keyboard split.

The arpeggiator supports regular, dotted, and triplet rhythmic divisions. Users can create Draw patterns within a shared loop ranging from one to 16 beats, allowing the two parts to run different pattern lengths and create polymetric rhythmic relationships.

PolyArp provides MIDI CC and aftertouch mapping for 24 musical controls, along with setup presets. Humanize, Expression, Articulation, and the gate parameters for both parts can be automated in a DAW. IrisOrbit has also published demonstrations showing PolyArp operating as a standalone application with a Nord Stage 3 88 over MIDI, and with parameter automation in Ableton Live.

Version 1.2.2 is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It is offered as a standalone application and VST3 plug-in, with AU MIDI FX support on macOS and LV2 support on Linux. Plug-in operation requires a compatible host with MIDI output routing.

PolyArp is available with a perpetual personal licence for EUR 15 in Europe or USD 15 elsewhere, including version 1.x updates. A seven-day full-featured trial is available after email verification in the application and does not require a payment card.
