Icechewing Technology has launched ice rhythm, a time and volume effect plugin for macOS and Windows. The plugin is designed to load Gross Beat preset and bank files in DAWs that support VST3 or AU formats.
ice rhythm can import Gross Beat preset files in .fst format and bank files in .fnv format. Files can be dragged onto the plugin window, after which they are displayed in the plugin’s preset browser. The developer states that the feature is intended to allow producers using DAWs other than FL Studio to access compatible presets included with some drum and sound kits.
The effect includes controls for setting the bars on which an effect is active within an eight-bar cycle. Its LENGTH setting allows patterns to run for one, two, or four bars.
- Envelope editing tools for selecting groups of points and moving, copying, pasting, or duplicating them.
- Undo and redo functions, plus quantization for points positioned slightly away from the grid.
- MIDI note-based slot switching and three included factory banks.
ice rhythm is available as a VST3 plugin for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems. On macOS 10.13 or later, it is available in VST3 and AU formats as a signed and notarized Universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Icechewing Technology states that ice rhythm is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Image-Line NV. Gross Beat and FL Studio are trademarks of Image-Line NV and are identified in relation to compatible preset files.
ice rhythm is available now for $24.99 as a one-time purchase with free updates. A licence covers two computers, and activation requires an internet connection once.
