IrisOrbit has launched PolyArp 1.4.0, an update to its MIDI-generating arpeggiator for macOS, Windows, and Linux. PolyArp is available as both a plug-in and a standalone application, producing MIDI rather than audio.
The update introduces independent Repeat modes and Count controls for the arpeggiator’s two hands. Repeat can be applied to every note, the first or last position, or a Custom list, while Count sets the total number of plays from 1 to 16.
Repeat and Count parameters can be assigned through MIDI Map using MIDI CC messages or Aftertouch. PolyArp 1.4.0 also adds a Down/up direction mode that begins with the highest note and does not duplicate the notes at either end of the pattern.
Each hand can now be assigned to its own physical or virtual MIDI port and MIDI channel. These routing assignments are stored in projects and presets and apply to direct MIDI output, while the MIDI stream sent to the DAW remains combined.
The Draw function now includes undo and redo for up to 100 edits during the current session. Dragging a Rate note switches the interface to Draw mode and allows the note to be edited in one gesture. The Settings panel can also be hidden to create additional grid space.
The upper lime lane is now assigned to the right hand, with the lower lane assigned to the left hand. The update is free for existing PolyArp 1.x owners.
PolyArp is priced at €15 in Europe and $15 elsewhere. A seven-day trial includes all features.
