Meldaproduction has launched MTrackAlign, an ARA plugin for Mac and Windows designed to streamline audio alignment within digital audio workstations. The tool uses a guide track to synchronize timing across multiple recordings.
MTrackAlign integrates directly into compatible DAWs, allowing users to align vocals, instruments, or dialogue without manually slicing and crossfading clips. By referencing a chosen guide track, the plugin adjusts the timing of consonants, syllables, and breaths to match the lead performance.
The plugin can assist with a range of tasks, including:
- Consolidating layered vocals into a cohesive stack
- Aligning rhythm sections for precise timing
- Replacing on-set dialogue with studio-recorded ADR for film and post-production
Built on Audio Random Access technology, MTrackAlign exchanges detailed timing information with the host DAW. It is compatible with the latest versions of most major ARA systems:
- Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo
- PreSonus Studio One
- Apple Logic Pro X
- Cockos Reaper
Beyond vocal and rhythm alignment, the tool can be applied to instrument replacement, synchronizing field and Foley recordings, tightening horn sections, and supporting musical practice or analysis.
