The Asylum has launched The Asylum Boards of Audio – Full Version, an instrument designed for organic synthesis, tape-inspired degradation and evolving sound. The instrument expands on the developer’s free edition with editable synthesis and additional sound-design and performance controls.
Boards of Audio – Full Version includes multiple synthesis sources with independent source and filter routing. It also provides a procedural Environment layer, which can generate environmental sounds, alongside support for imported recordings.
The instrument’s Behaviour Matrix includes four lanes for creating movement through editable curves and event-triggered patterns. Each lane can operate with tempo-synchronised or time-based playback, allowing modulation and pattern behaviour to be configured within a patch.
Performance controls include four assignable macros and eight performance pads. The instrument also provides mono, legato and glide settings for its voice behaviour.
Built-in processing includes warmth and saturation, wear, ensemble, delay, rooms and compression. Additional workflow functions include preset search, favourites, Undo and A/B comparison.
The Full Version contains 108 native factory presets, as well as the 20 Original programmes included with the Free Edition. The free version remains available as a 20-preset rompler edition of the instrument.
Boards of Audio – Full Version is available as a 64-bit VST3 plug-in for Windows, and as a universal Intel and Apple Silicon VST3 and AU plug-in for macOS.
The Asylum Boards of Audio – Full Version is priced at £79.99, with an introductory price of £49.99 until 30 November 2026. Product information, demonstrations and purchasing details are available from The Asylum.
