XILS-lab has Launched The Eighty, a virtual synth plugin for Windows and Mac, drawing inspiration from Yamaha’s CS-80 analog synthesizer. The plugin is designed to provide sound designers, producers, and musicians with a tool to create a wide range of sounds, from lush pads and soaring leads to deep, textured soundscapes.
The Eighty features three synthesis lines: two that accurately replicate the linked high-pass and low-pass filters that characterized the CS-80’s distinctive sound, and a third line that can be smoothly blended through an innovative 2D mixer for expanded sonic possibilities. The plugin boasts extensive modulation capabilities and an intuitive interface, making it a versatile tool for sound creation.
Optimized for low CPU usage, The Eighty ensures high-quality sound without compromising system performance. It incorporates zero-delay filters to eliminate common digital artifacts, delivering a sound that closely resembles that of an analog synthesizer.
The plugin also includes an advanced arpeggiator that can modulate components based on the current step, and a preset manager that allows users to quickly find the desired sound.
The Eighty is compatible with both Windows and MacOS. Specifically, it works with MAC OSX 10.13 and later (64 Bits, Intel&Apple Silicone): VST2.4, VST3, Audio Unit, AAX (Native), and Windows 7,8,10 and 11 (64 Bits): VST2.4, VST3, AAX (Native). The plugin comes with a user manual and a license-free demo version is available for download.
The Eighty is currently available at a 50% discount, priced at 89 €. At Audio Plugin Deals, it is available for $79. This promotional discount is valid until January 31st.
