2B Played Music has launched 2B Shaped 2, a multi-effect plugin combining 17 effect modules in a configurable processing rack. The plugin is designed for producers and sound designers who want to create time-based, rhythmic, and audio-reactive effect changes within a single interface.
2B Shaped 2 includes Volume, Filter, Pan, Delay, Reverb, Flanger, Pitch, Crusher, Phaser, Distortion, Noise, Scrub, Resonator, RingShift, Unison/Wide, Formant, and Compressor/Expander modules. Users can combine and rearrange these modules in the rack to determine their processing order.
The plugin centres on a visual shape editor for creating modulation patterns. The editor supports custom curves, step-based shapes, editable nodes, bend controls, and musical timing settings. According to 2B Played Music, users can click node and bend labels to select exact musical notes, allowing pitch sequences and other note-based modulation patterns to be configured directly in the editor.
Each module includes frequency-band processing controls. The React function can modulate effect parameters from incoming audio or an external sidechain source, while MIDI triggering and DAW synchronisation provide additional timing and control options. The plugin also includes reusable shape libraries and plugin banks.
2B Played Music states that 2B Shaped 2 was developed as a creative effects environment in which users can draw parameter movements, combine processing modules, and control how effects develop over time. Its stated use cases include subtle mix processing, rhythmic effects, evolving textures, and more extensive sound transformation.
2B Shaped 2 is available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AAX formats, with Audio Units support on macOS.
2B Shaped 2 is available for an introductory price of $49.99 until November 20, 2026, after which the regular price will be $119.99. Owners of the original 2B Shaped can upgrade for $39.99 through their 2B Played Music account. A fully functional seven-day trial is available, and the plugin is included for active 2B Played Music Studio Pass members at no additional cost.
