Sound Dust has launched Drift Free – Bad Pianos, a unique library for Kontakt (full version). This innovative product is designed to provide a distinctive twist on traditional piano sounds, offering a range of unusual and intriguing features.
Drift Free – Bad Pianos is a 700MB library of 24bit multi samples, featuring noise, weird looping, uneven notes, wow, flutter, and multi throb. Despite its name, this ‘bad piano’ is designed to sound great, offering a unique and creative tool for musicians and producers. The library is compatible with the full version of Kontakt 6.7.1 and above.
The free version of Bad Pianos utilises the fluidity of the Drift engine, encouraging users to twist and morph a cosmos of new sounds. It includes one multi sampled bad piano, modwheel, aftertouch for subtly pitch bend, a morph EQ knob with 100 presets, a morph ADSR knob with 100 presets, a grist knob for noisy filth, 50 custom impulse response reverbs, BPM synced drift control for tape-like chaotic wow and flutter, BPM synced bipolar ducking modulators for complex throbbing, and a range of play modes including polyphonic, monophonic, legato and offset. The free version also offers portamento, up to 8 voices of detuned girth, custom modwheel settings per sound source, full automation capability, and built-in instructions in the RTFM page.
For those seeking to further enhance their sound, the 60REWIRES upgrade is available. This upgrade adds 60 themed snapshots that tamper with the basic DNA of Bad Pianos to reconfigure the architecture and create even more unlikely and very usable piano textures. The 60REWIRES upgrade includes everything in the free version plus 60 themed and re-cabled snapshots in 6 categories: BAD, BOUNCED, HAZED, PULSATED, TAPED, and WRONGED.
While the product itself is free, the 60REWIRES upgrade can be purchased for a small fee. This upgrade provides an additional 60 new piano sounds and textures, offering even more creative possibilities for users.
The product, Drift Free – Bad Pianos, is available for free. The 60REWIRES upgrade can be purchased for £10/$10/€10. There is no expiry date for this offer.
