AudioBrain has launched ChimeBrain 1.0.0, a physically modeled wind-chime instrument for Apple Silicon Macs. The software generates sound in real time by modeling independently vibrating metal bars rather than using fixed samples.
ChimeBrain supports configurations of up to 36 bars. Users can set individual bar dimensions, materials, and pitches, then perform the instrument through MIDI input, sweep controls, a SHAKE function, and on-screen gestures.
The instrument includes five virtual microphone families with adjustable placement, angle, and left-right stereo spacing. A graphical drag-and-drop interface is provided for microphone positioning. Its ROOM section allows users to adjust room dimensions and surface materials.
Version 1.0.0 is designed specifically for wind-chime modeling. Tubular bells, drums, and cymbals are not included. AudioBrain states that the instrument is intended for uses including pop transitions, film scores, theatre productions, and sound design.
ChimeBrain is available for Apple Silicon macOS systems using the arm64 architecture. It is supplied in AU, VST3, and standalone formats, and is Developer ID signed and Apple notarized. Japanese and English PDF manuals are included. Windows, Intel-based Mac, and AAX formats are not supported.
AudioBrain notes that its promotional video uses ChimeBrain-generated audio edited to footage of the software interface, rather than an unedited synchronized one-take performance.
ChimeBrain has a regular price of US$19. An introductory price of US$9.50, representing a 50% discount, is available through October 27, 2026, at 23:59 JST.
