Expressive E has launched Soliste, a new collection of four solo string instruments designed for both Windows and Mac users. This collection is crafted to provide musicians with a realistic bowing experience through physically modeled instruments.
The Soliste collection comprises four distinct instruments: VLN 356 (violin), VLA 419 (viola), CLO 759 (cello), and DBS 1130 (double bass). These instruments are tailored for MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) and standard MIDI controllers, allowing users to have intuitive, real-time control over various musical elements such as articulation, bowing, vibrato, and dynamics.
Musicians can explore a diverse range of articulation presets within the Soliste collection. These include techniques like sul ponticello, sul tasto, pizzicato, Bartók, col legno, and various short strokes such as spiccato, spiccatissimo, staccato, staccatissimo, and martelé. This variety provides users with the flexibility to achieve a wide array of expressive sounds.
Compatibility is a key feature of Soliste, as it works seamlessly with Expressive E’s Osmose and Touché hardware. Additionally, it supports any MPE-ready controller and standard MIDI keyboards, ensuring broad accessibility for musicians. The software is compatible with macOS versions 12 (Monterey) to 15 (Sequoïa), supporting both Apple silicon and Intel chips, as well as Windows 11 and higher.
The licensing system for Soliste utilizes PACE iLok, which does not require a hardware dongle and permits up to three activations, providing flexibility for users who work across multiple devices.
The Soliste collection is currently available at a promotional price of €179.40, reduced from the original price of €299.00. Individual instruments can be purchased for €59.40 each, down from €99.00. This offer is valid until July 18th.
