Tape DSP has launched a free collection of eight tape-processing plugins for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The Tape DSP plugin pack is available in VST3, AU, and LV2 formats and includes effects designed around the developer’s Tape Machine reel-to-reel model.
The collection includes Tape Machine, Tape Compressor, Tape Echo, Tape Chorus, Tape Reverb, Tape Distortion, Tape Stereo Expander, and Tape Pitch Shifter. According to Tape DSP, each processor derives its tape character from the Tape Machine model while being voiced for its individual processing role.
The Tape Machine plugin provides the underlying modeled reel-to-reel tape character used throughout the collection. The other plugins apply this approach to dynamics processing, delay, modulation, reverb, distortion, stereo widening, and pitch shifting.

The plugins are free to use. Optional one-time Expansions add additional controls to individual plugins, and each Expansion can be tried for 30 days with a Tape DSP account. The pack is available from tapedsp.com/download.
